Gifted Programs in Alabama

Alabama: Gifted Services are Mandated but Not Funded by The State of Alabama

In Alabama, gifted education is mandated but not funded by the state. This means that while the State of Alabama defines what it means to be gifted in Alabama, the state does not fund public education for gifted students.  The Alabama Association for Gifted Children is a good place to start if you think your child may be gifted.  Also, the Alabama Department of Education website includes relevant gifted forms and information on giftedness in Alabama.
